Bet On Over 2.5 Goals In The Premier League

💡 Strategy

This strategy is easy to understand but needs a few simple calculations. Don't worry, we will explain it step by step. For each game in the English Premier League, we look at the past 6 games for both teams. If both teams had games with a total of Over 2.5 Goals in at least 5 of their last 6 games, we bet on Over 2.5 Goals for that game.

Here's how it works:

Starting from Round 7, so we have enough data for the strategy to work we do the following:
For each game, if both teams had games with a total of Over 2.5 Goals in at least 5 of their last 6 games, we bet on Over 2.5 Goals for that game with one unit.

Examples from Round 7 of the 2023-24 Premier League Season:

• West Ham vs. Sheffield United: After Round 6, West Ham had 5 of their last 6 games with more than 2.5 total goals. Sheffield United also had 5 of their last 6 games with more than 2.5 total goals. Since both teams had at least 5 of their last 6 games with more than 2.5 total goals, we place a bet on Over 2.5 goals for this game.

• Tottenham vs. Liverpool: After Round 6, Tottenham had 4 of their last 6 games with more than 2.5 total goals. Liverpool had 5 of their last 6 games with more than 2.5 total goals. Since not both teams had at least 5 of their last 6 games with more than 2.5 total goals, we skip this game and do not bet on it.

📈 Stats

On average, about 65% of all games in the Premier League end with Over 2.5 Goals:

This means betting on Over 2.5 Goals can work well if we avoid games with fewer than 2.5 goals. The idea is to bet only on teams that often have games with more than 2.5 total goals.

⭐ Testing

We tested this strategy over the past season of the English Premier League (2023-24). Starting from Round 7, we bet £10 on each game where both teams had at least 5 of their last 6 games with more than 2.5 total goals.

For the 2023-24 season, we placed bets on 36 games. We won 69% of those bets, making a net profit of £28.80, which is an ROI of 8%.

Betting on Over 2.5 Goals in the Premier League for games where both teams had at least 5 of their last 6 games with more than 2.5 goals in total worked okay in our tests. We made a small profit, but losing a few more games would have meant we would be losing money. So, you can BET with this strategy if you're okay with the risk and the chance of making only a small profit.
