Bet On Heavy Favourites In The Premier League
What if we bet on heavy favourites to win all the time using acca's?
Hey Friend,
Are you excited for our new football betting strategy this week? Take a look below!
💡 Strategy
This strategy is easy to follow. We bet on heavy favourites to win every game in the English Premier League but instead of betting with single bet slips, we bet with accumulators (acca’s).
Here's how it works:
For each round, we look at each game and if the favourite to win has odds shorter than or equal to 1.3 (3/10), we add that game to an accumulator bet slip. At the end, we bet one unit on the accumulator bet slip (if only one applicable game has been found for the round, the bet slip behaves like a single bet slip).
Examples from Round 3 of the 2023-24 Premier League Season:
Arsenal vs. Fulham: Arsenal is the favourite, and the odds for them to win are 1.27 (27/100). These odds are shorter than 1.3 (3/10), so we add Arsenal to win to our accumulator bet slip.
Sheffield United vs. Man City: Man City is the favourite, and the odds for them to win are 1.21 (21/100). These odds are shorter than 1.3 (3/10), so we also add Man City to win to our accumulator bet slip.
Man United vs. Nottingham Forrest: Man United is the favourite, but the odds for them to win are 1.34 (17/50), which is larger than 1.3 (3/10), so we do not add this game to our accumulator bet slip.
📈 Stats
On average, the favourite team wins 59% of the time in the Premier League.
This means betting on favourites can be successful by using accumulators (acca’s) if we avoid most games where the favourite doesn’t win. For example, we can only bet on the favourite when they have a very high chance of winning.
⭐ Testing
We tested this strategy over the past season of the English Premier League (2023-24). Starting from Round 1, we bet £10 on each accumulator bet slip (or £10 on each single bet slip if only 1 game applicable) for games where the favourite to win had odds of 1.3 (3/10) or less.
For the 2023-24 season, we placed bets on 16 single bet slips and 12 accumulators (acca’s) . We won 79% of those bets, making a net profit of £6.00, which is an ROI of 2.1%.

🚀 Bet Or Regret?
Betting on accumulators (acca’s) and singles (when only one game was applicable) for favourites with odds shorter than or equal to 1.3 (3/10) didn't work well in our tests. We didn't lose money, but we didn't make much either. Even though we won a lot of bets, we only got a 2.1% return on our money. This isn't enough, and a few more lost bets would mean we would be losing money with this strategy. So, we think you might REGRET following this strategy.
