Bet On Draws In The Premier League

What if we bet on draws where the two teams have (almost) equal points?

Hey Friend,

Are you excited for our new football betting strategy this week? Take a look below!

💡 Strategy

This strategy is easy to follow. We bet on draws in the English Premier League.

Here's how it works:

  1. Check Team Points: For each game, look at the ranking and points of both teams.

  2. Difference of less than or equal to 6: If the home team has up to 6 points more points than the away team, place a single bet (not an accumulator) with the amount you choose.

  3. Start from Round 6: Only use this strategy from Round 6 onward, as earlier rounds have teams with very close points.

Examples from Round 6 of the 2023-24 Premier League Season:

  • Liverpool vs. West Ham: After Round 5, Liverpool has 13 points and West Ham has 10 points. The difference is 3 in favour of Liverpool, which is less than 6, so we place a bet on a draw.

  • Chelsea vs. Aston Villa: After Round 5, Chelsea has 5 points and Aston Villa has 9 points. The point difference is 4. However, Chelsea is the home team and since it has fewer points than Aston Villa, we don’t place a bet on this game.

  • Man City vs. Nottingham Forrest: After Round 5, Man City has 15 points and Nottingham Forest has 3 points. The difference is 12. Even though Man City is the home team and has more points, the difference is too big (more than 6), so we don’t bet on this game.

📈 Stats

According to the stats, about 22% of the games in the English Premier League end in a draw:

Premier League Draws

This means that betting on draws in the Premier League might give a chance for success if we manage to filter most of the games that do not end in a draw.

⭐ Testing

We tested this strategy over the past season of the English Premier League (2023-24). Starting from Round 6, we bet £10 on each game where the teams had a point difference of less than or equal to 6 and the home team had more points than the away team.

For the 2023-24 season, we placed bets on 54 games. We won 30% of those bets, making a net profit of £128.70, which is an ROI of 23.8%.
