💡 Strategy

This strategy is easy to follow. We bet on slight favourites playing at home to win every game in the Spanish La Liga.

Here's how it works:

For each game, if there’s a slight favourite, we place a bet. A "slight favourite" means the odds for the favourite to win are between 1.5 (1/2) and 1.8 (4/5), and the favourite is playing at home. We bet one unit on the favourite to win.

Example from Round 1 of the 2023-24 La Liga Season:

• Real Sociedad vs. Girona: Real Sociedad is the favourite, with odds of 1.68 (17/25) to win. Since these odds are between 1.5 (1/2) and 1.8 (4/5) and they’re playing at home, we place a bet on Real Sociedad to win.

• Getafe vs. Barcelona: Barcelona is the favourite, with odds of 1.61 (61/100) to win. These odds are between 1.5 (1/2) and 1.8 (4/5) which match our criteria. However, since Barcelona is playing away, we skip this game and do not bet on it as we only bet on slight favourites playing at home.

On average, the home team wins 44% of the time in La Liga:

This means betting on the home team can be successful if we avoid most games where the home team doesn’t win. For example, we can only bet on the home team when they are slight favourite to win, which means that the odds for them to win are between 1.5 (1/2) and 1.8 (4/5).

⭐ Testing

We tested this strategy over the past season of the Spanish La Liga (2023-24). Starting from Round 1, we bet £10 on each game where the favourite to win has odds between 1.5 (1/2) and 1.8 (4/5) and the favourite is playing at home.

For the 2023-24 season, we placed bets on 67 games. We won 75% of those bets, making a net profit of £162.50, which is an ROI of 24.3%.
