💡 Strategy

This strategy is simple and one we’ve covered before: bet on the top four Premier League teams to win their games. If two top-four teams are playing each other, bet on a draw. To make it even smarter, only bet on a top-four team if their full-time win odds are 1.9 (9/10) or lower—credit to our subscriber, Stan, for this great tweak! And there’s one more twist (shoutout to Stan again): combine all games that meet these conditions in a matchweek into a system bet.

Reminder: A system bet is a way to place multiple bets at once, but you don’t have to win all of them to get a payout. It combines several smaller bet combinations from your selections, so even if one or more bets lose, you can still win money. It’s great for reducing risk while still having a chance to win big!

Here's how it works:

For each game, if a team is in the top 4 before the game starts, we bet on them to win and add that game to our system bet slip as long as the odds for them to win are 1.9 (9/10) or less. If both teams are in the top 4, we bet on a draw. We start betting from Round 6 when the rankings are more meaningful.

Example from Round 6 of the 2023-24 Premier League Season:

Just before the start of Round 6, the teams in top four are:

  1. Manchester City

  2. Tottenham

  3. Liverpool

  4. Arsenal

  • Liverpool vs. West Ham: Liverpool is in the top 4 before Round 6 starts and West Ham is not, so we bet on Liverpool to win and add that game to our system bet slip.

  • Arsenal vs. Tottenham: Both Arsenal and Tottenham are in the top 4 before the round starts, so we bet on a draw and add that game to our system bet slip.

  • Burnley vs. Manchester United: Neither team is in the top 4 before Round 6, so we skip this game and don't bet on it.

Example from Round 11 of the 2023-24 Premier League Season:

  • Tottenham vs. Chelsea: Tottenham is in the top 4 before Round 11 begins, but Chelsea is not. However, Tottenham's odds to win are 2.21 (121/100), which is higher than 1.9. Because of this, we skip this game and don't place a bet.

📈 Stats

On average, the favourite team wins 59% of the time in the Premier League.

This means betting on favourites can work well if we avoid games where the favourite is less likely to win. For example, we can focus on top-four teams and only bet on them when their win odds are 1.9 (9/10) or lower. Plus, using a system bet can increase our chances, as these teams tend to win more often.

⭐ Testing

We tested this strategy over the past season of the English Premier League (2023-24). Starting from Round 6, we bet a total of £10 on each system bet slip with games involving the top 4 teams. If only one team was in the top 4, we bet on that team to win. If both teams were in the top 4, we bet on a draw.

For the 2023-24 season, we placed money on 31 system bet slips (containing 65 games in total). As a result, we made net profit of £169.73, which is an ROI of 54.8%.

🚀 Bet Or Regret?

Betting on the top four teams to win, and betting on a draw when they play each other as well as placing the bets in a system bet slip worked great in our tests. We made a very good profit and therefore we believe you might want to BET using this strategy.
