Bet On Heavy Favourites In The Premier League

What if we bet on heavy favourites to win all the time?

Hey Friend,

Are you excited for our new football betting strategy this week? Take a look below!

💡 Strategy

This strategy is easy to follow. We bet on heavy favourites to win every game in the English Premier League.

Here's how it works:

For each game, if the favourite to win has odds shorter than or equal to 1.3 (3/10), we bet one unit on the favourite to win, whether they are playing at home or away.

Examples from Round 1 of the 2023-24 Premier League Season:

  • Arsenal vs. Nottingham Forest: Arsenal is the favourite, and the odds for them to win are 1.21 (21/100). These odds are shorter than 1.3 (3/10), so we bet on Arsenal to win.

  • Burnley vs. Man City: Man City is the favourite, but the odds for them to win are 1.39 (39/100). These odds are greater than 1.3 (3/10), so we skip this game and do not bet on it.

📈 Stats

On average, the favourite team wins 59% of the time in the Premier League.

This means betting on favourites can be successful if we avoid most games where the favourite doesn’t win. For example, we can only bet on the favourite when they have a very high chance of winning.

⭐ Testing

We tested this strategy over the past season of the English Premier League (2023-24). Starting from Round 1, we bet £10 on each game where the favourite to win has odds shorter than or equal to 1.3 (3/10).

For the 2023-24 season, we placed bets on 41 games. We won 85% of those bets, making a net profit of £11.30, which is an ROI of 2.7%.

🚀 Bet Or Regret?

Betting on the favourite with odds shorter than or equal to 1.3 (3/10) didn't work well in our tests. We didn't lose money, but we didn't make much either. Even though we won a lot of bets, we only got a 2.7% return on our money. This isn't enough, and a few more lost bets would mean we would be losing money with this strategy. So, we think you might REGRET following this strategy.
