💡 Strategy
This strategy is easy to follow. We bet on heavy favourites to lose the first half, but make a full comeback in the second half and win the game at full time. We use this strategy in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Here's how it works:
For each game, if the favourite is playing at home and the odds for them to win are between 1.2 (1/5) and 1.4 (2/5), we bet one unit on the favorite to lose the first half but win the full game.
Example from Round 3 of the 2023-24 Portuguese Primeira Liga Season:
Sporting Lisbon vs. Famalicao: Sporting Lisbon is the favorite with odds of 1.27 (27/100) and is playing at home. Since these odds are between 1.2 (1/5) and 1.4 (2/5), we bet on Sporting Lisbon to lose the first half but win at full time.
Rio Ave vs. Porto: Porto is the favourite, but the odds for them to win are 1.46 (23/50). These odds are greater than 1.4 (2/5) and also Porto is not playing at home, so for these reasons we skip this game and do not bet on it.
📈 Stats
On average, the underdog team wins the first half and the favourite makes a full comeback and wins at full time around 4.25% of the time in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
The odds for guessing this outcome are really high, which means we’d be wrong most of the time. But if we find a few games where it happens, we could still make a big profit. One way to try this is by betting on strong home teams to lose the first half but use their home advantage to come back and win by full time.
⭐ Testing
We tested this strategy over the past 3 seasons of the Portuguese Primeira Liga (2023-24, 2022-23, 2021-22). Starting from Round 1 of each season, we bet £10 on the underdog to win the first half and the favourite to win at full time for each game where the favourite was playing at home and the odds for them to win were between 1.2 (1/5) and 1.4 (2/5).
For the 2023-24 season, we placed bets on 33 games. We won 6% of those bets, making a net profit of £130.00, which is an ROI of 39.4%.

For the 2021-22 season, we placed bets on 37 games. We won 8% of those bets, making a net profit of £315.60, which is an ROI of 85.3%.

🚀 Bet Or Regret?
Betting on the favourite to lose the first half but then make a comeback and win by full time when they are playing at home and the odds for them are between 1.2 (1/5) and 1.4 (2/5) worked really well in our tests. On average we achieved 95.6% profit for the past three seasons of the Portuguese Primeira Liga. So, we suggest you BET on this strategy, too.
